At SALT we value our employees and are always finding new ways to create a balance between detailed and excellent work with quality time outside the office. We are a family of dedicated worker bees who know how to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients while understanding the necessity to prioritize our lives outside of work. We enjoy making time to celebrate small or large wins (often with food), and encourage each other to push creative boundaries and exceed expectations.

Kelsey Conway
Design Principal + Administration
Kelsey Conway is a driving force behind SALT’s design excellence and internal strength. Since joining the firm in 2013—and becoming co-owner in 2018—she has helped shape SALT’s collaborative culture, thoughtful operations, and people-centered approach to design.
Kelsey brings over 14 years of experience to her role as Design Principal, with a portfolio that spans corporate, healthcare, residential, and multi-family projects. Known for her systems thinking and clarity of process, she leads both client projects and internal operations with equal intention—balancing creativity with structure, and always keeping people at the center.
Originally from Sitka, and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno (BS, Interior Design), Kelsey is NCIDQ-certified and a committed leader in Alaska’s design community. She’s a past President of both the ASID Alaska Chapter and the Alaska Professional Design Council (APDC), and a nationally recognized ASID Ones to Watch Scholar for her advocacy around equity, mentorship, and onboarding in the profession.
At SALT, Kelsey’s leadership is steady, inclusive, and grounded in the belief that good design is built on clear communication, strong relationships, and thoughtful execution. Whether mentoring emerging designers or refining internal systems, she ensures the studio’s mission + core values come through in everything SALT does.
Outside of work, Kelsey loves being outdoors—whether that’s out on the boat, hitting the trails for a hike or run, or recharging at home baking sweets. These days, she’s also deep in the throes of new motherhood, often accessorized with burp cloths and an impressive collection of mystery stains. She’s currently on a mission to perfect her silly faces and raspberry-blowing skills—all in the name of baby giggles.

NCIDQ, ASID, 2020 ASID Ones to Watch Scholar
